About Me

Thank you for visiting my website! My name is Neil, a software engineer and computer science student at Columbia University, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. I will be joining Apple as a software engineer during the summer of 2020.

Since 2013, I have been developing apps for Apple operating systems. From school’s daily news apps to fitness trackers, I have published several apps on the App Store. Some of the apps are also open source on Github.

l am deeply passionate about supervised machine learning and computer vision. In the spring of 2017, I gave a TEDx talk about A.I. at Deerfield Academy. You can find my talk here on YouTube.

I am privileged to the opportunities to pursue my interests. It’s my responsibility to use my knowledge in engineering to create something meaningful for others. I co-lead a free computer science education program to help and inspire young students in the Western MA area.

I also love tinkering and building electronics. I have made a quadcopter from scratch, built a microprocessor on a FPGA, and, for the past two years, have been working on a self-driving golf cart. You can learn more about the open-source autonomous vehicle on my Github page.

Thanks again for stopping by. Please leave a comment below if you have any questions. Or you can directly email me at contact(at)neilnie.com
